In Love With a Stranger — Rain and Roses, book cover

The story of how they found each other is tangled in deception — a face behind a screen, a secret buried too deep, and a betrayal that detonates the moment she finally lets him in.

Sarah has spent her life learning that love always comes with a catch. Burned by everyone who claimed to care, she keeps her walls high — until a stranger makes her believe in something real.

David knows what it means to be falsely accused, to lose everything, to rebuild a life from the ruins of a single lie. In Sarah he sees a love that might survive the worst of what people do to each other.

Told in both their voices, this is a story about what it costs to trust again — and what it takes to forgive.

A note for readers: this novel draws from real experience and moves through real darkness — false accusation, abuse, and survival — always reaching toward the light on the other side.

About the Author

David Paiz, Jr.

David Paiz, Jr. writes from the place where his own story lived first. In Love With a Stranger is a debut drawn from real experience — the ache of being misjudged, the long road back from a single lie, and the stubborn hope that someone real is still out there.

Someone he trusted once told him that our stories aren't only ours to keep — that somebody, somewhere, needs to hear them. This book is him keeping that promise.

He is currently at work on the second and final book of the duology, Butterflies and Sunflowers.
